November 4th & 5th, 2006: I walk in beauty |

Are
you one of the women who will most benefit from, and most enjoy, I WALK IN BEAUTY my exciting new intergenerational
shamanic journey weekend for women? Read on, to make sure! Exciting? You bet! I can hardly wait to share this experience with you. To tell the truth, when I first made the commitment to create this event, I had two thoughts almost simultaneously. The first? "Boy, if I'm going to do anything with a title like that, I'm going to have to lose weight!" My next thought came right on its heels, and on a wave of laughter. "Where did that surface from?" This is exactly the kind of thinking this weekend is meant to help heal!" New? Yes, and very ancient. Over the last few years I've expanded my repertoire of counseling, teaching and presentation skills to include a number of experiential group activities with deep shamanic roots. They've had a powerful impact on me directly, and on others navigating the here-and-now as first-world women.Intergenerational? As women, we know ourselves not only as individuals, but also in relation to others. In addition, each of us is born to a specific lineage and heritage. Walking in beauty this weekend, you'll learn to distinguish yourself from, and at the same time to benefit, your family, your friends, your community, our nation and our world. I invite you to plan to come to the weekend solo, or to extend this invitation to others: your mother, your daughter, your sister, your partner, and your friends. Shamanic Journey? In traditional practice, only the shaman is empowered. He or she journeys outside the bounds of ordinary reality on behalf of all others. Since I employ shamanic practices in a different manner, as you participate in this weekend to consciously connect with your own beauty, the power of choice and opportunity stays with you. Weekend Gathering? We'll meet at The Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge for the first weekend in November: Saturday, the 4th, and Sunday, the 5th. We'll gather in the Inn's Hitchcock Room on both days to discover what it means to walk the earth in beauty, and to explore ways of doing exactly that. We'll find that walking in beauty enriches our lives, each other, and the world, so come prepared to fall in love with someone you may not have truly met before, or may long to recognize more deeply: you, yourself. We'll gather on Saturday at 9:00 am to
register and begin our group journey. Lui Collins will provide
musical commentary and support through the weekend. (If you
don't already know her music, go to LuiCollins.com.) We'll continue our journey together on Sunday at 10:00 am, which will give everyone plenty of time to relax over breakfast, take a walk, journal dreams from Saturday night, feed the kids before driving back to Stockbridge, or otherwise prepare for our second day together. Sunday's schedule begins with more personal journey work, some focus on integrating our weekend experience into daily life, the presentation of the first annual Sedna's Circle "I Walk in Beauty" Award to Lin Schreiber, and a give-away ceremony. We'll close the weekend formally on Sunday at 2 pm. That will allow everyone from out of town to begin to drive home in daylight without missing anything. The rest of us can gently amble back into our lives in the Berkshires over the next hour or so. Cost of the Weekend The fee for I WALK IN BEAUTY is $430. Early-birds, as well as women registering for the event together, are eligible for discounts. MasterCard and VISA accepted. Payment plan can be scheduled. Contact me by phone: 413-528-5557. Housing costs are not included in the event fee. See below for housing at The Red Lion Inn. Housing at The Red Lion Inn Until September 21, The Red Lion will keep 10 rooms reserved for those who choose to stay at the Red Lion on this Friday, Saturday, or even Sunday night. No minimum stay required. $90-$160 per night. Contact the front desk at The Red Lion Inn, 413-298-5545 to reserve your room, and mention I Walk in Beauty when you make your reservation. After September 21, there may still be rooms available, but none are guaranteed. So, this is your heads-up-intro to my Headline News Event for November. If you're interested in hearing more, send me an Email. Let me know when it'll be good for me to call you, or you can call me directly yourself. I'd love to talk with you, to answer your questions and, hopefully, to share the creation of this stellar event with you. |
